We’ve had a few important shifts behind the scenes this week—and they’ve opened the door to something even better.
First, we received our first $1,000 pledge toward the Foundation Division prize fund. This is a huge step forward in recognizing the time, skill, and patience it takes to start these horses right.
At the same time, we’ve made the decision to withdraw one of our originally planned Foundation horses. She’s simply not ready yet—and staying true to the horse always comes first.
So what does that mean?
It means we’re expanding.
We have an appointment scheduled at Elm Creek next Friday (April 3) to bring in additional young BLM mustangs to round out the Foundation Division.
And with that We are reopening applications for:• Foundation Division trainers• Rising Star youth trainers
If you missed the original application deadline—or if you’ve been wanting the opportunity to work with mustangs—this is a great time to apply.
The Foundation Division is continuing to grow into what we’ve always envisioned: a true starting point for young, unhandled horses, focused on building trust, foundation, and future opportunity.
Rising Star participants can work out of the GSH facility near Scotland, SD or their own facility and should plan to commit to at least two days per week.
