title: Chemotherapy is working! It's time for surgery to remove the tumor!
description: We are so excited to share that Sugar's chemotherapy has been working and she's nearly ready for surgery! This beautiful mare came to us anxious and overwhelmed from another rescue, and entered the Dakota Showdown Horse Trainer Challenge for a chance at a new life. With her amazing trainer Cara McWilliams, she built confidence and trust, learned so very much, and showed that deep down is a brave and loving horse.

Look who's back at the rescue! It's Sugar! Sugar has been fighting cancer with her trainer Cara by her side since July, but recently returned to our care. The good news is the chemo has significantly shrunk the tumor, and it's time to schedule a surgical checkup!

YOUR support has allowed Sugar to get the chemo she needed to fight her aggressive, malignant cancer ... and we are confident your support will be there for her to take this (hopefully) last step in becoming cancer free!

Consider a donation NOW: [https://givebutter.com/sugarsurgery](https://givebutter.com/sugarsurgery?fbclid=IwAR39Z9gXw3nBWcElvrFrh-lKlR3zdjhSJ0C6IkI7H3WDDIzUYtXo08iuhRM)

The sooner we raise the estimated costs, the faster we can schedule her for surgery.
