As an occasional farrier, I always want to train the horses I work with to be good with their feet. So far, it appears to be not that hard. It's a thousand times harder to re-train a horse with bad habits with their feet.
Frannie was already good with me touching all over her, and would pick up her foot when I touched her leg (like, "no thank you"). A few minutes with a soft rope (safer for me) and a couple more minutes with R+ and she will hold her foot gently for a few seconds. I make sure to put her foot down before she tries to take it, and build on that. Like Twister, she has really taken to the R+ and learns quickly.
What tricks should I try to teach her?
