2025 Intake & Outcome Impact — Because of You!!

 

This year, 42 horses came to Gentle Spirit Horses in need of safety and a fresh start.

29 purchased from low-end auctions

8 returned from previous adoptions

4 surrendered by owners in crisis

1 born safe and healthy in our care

Because of your support, 34 horses found outcomes this year:

19 adopted into loving homes

7 transferred to trusted partner rescues

6 humanely euthanized when their suffering could not be relieved

2 passed in our care despite every effort

 

That means 29 auction horses avoided a dangerous and uncertain fate — and 2 more were placed directly into partner rescues in North Dakota and Georgia.

 

We also responded to 33 requests from owners needing help. Many never replied to follow-up, and several came from as far away as Maine, California, Alabama, and Utah — a reminder of how widespread the need truly is. A few were legacy requests, where people are planning ahead to be sure their horses will be safe and cared for when they can no longer provide that care themselves.
