Celebrating Native American Day!

Today, we honor the First Peoples of this land — the Lakota, Dakota, Nakota, and all Nations whose histories, strength, and wisdom continue to shape these plains.

Since 1990, South Dakota has formally recognized Native American Day, choosing remembrance, respect, and shared story over conquest.
We draw inspiration from the horse as sacred relative, whose spirit reflects the enduring bond between Indigenous peoples, the land, and all living beings.

Pictured here is Arden, born wild in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, among the herd believed to descend from Sitting Bull’s horses. His strength and gentleness remind us that the horse is more than history — it is heritage, resilience, and care in motion.
