Happy Sunday! We had an adoption today — Xena went home with Jessica, who has now adopted three GSH horses over the past fourteen years.

 

 Jessica’s first two, BJ and Dillon, were adopted as companions for her lifelong horse, Turbo. BJ was first, but when he passed and Turbo still needed a friend, Dillon went home with her. This week, Jessica had to say goodbye to Turbo at the remarkable age of twenty-nine. Instead of Dillon coming back to us, she decided to find him a new companion — and Xena was the lucky one chosen to fill that role.

 

Xena and Dillon actually came from the same herd originally, so it feels especially fitting that they’ve found their way back together. While we offer our sympathies to Jessica for the loss of Turbo, we’re grateful to be part of helping her herd feel whole again, and we’re so thankful for the love and care she’s given her horses over the years.
