The future of horse rescue is in good hands!

For this week's South Dakota Gives "Great Places, New Faces" challenge, we're celebrating three young women who have made Gentle Spirit Horses Rescue their second home: **Haily, Arryanna, and Aspen.**

While Haily has been part of the Gentle Spirit family for several years, Arryanna and Aspen are newer additions to our volunteer crew. Together, these three teenagers have become an important part of life at the rescue.

They spend their free time working with horses, helping with farrier appointments, tackling barn chores, and doing whatever needs to be done. They've learned that caring for horses isn't always glamorous, that there's a lot more to rescue than riding, and that sometimes the most important work happens behind the scenes.

But perhaps what we appreciate most is that they've chosen to make Gentle Spirit a second home. They've built relationships with the horses, with each other, and with the people who share their passion.

We talk a lot about the future of horse rescue, and the challenges facing the horse community. But when we look at young people like Haily, Arryanna, and Aspen, we're reminded that the future is also full of possibility.

These are the next generation of horse owners, advocates, volunteers, and perhaps even rescue leaders. They're learning not just how to care for horses, but what it means to show up, take responsibility, and make a difference.

**Thank you, Haily, Arryanna, and Aspen, for sharing your time, your energy, and your hearts with the horses of Gentle Spirit.** We're grateful you're part of our family, and we can't wait to see where your passion takes you.
