Today, March 1, is National Horse Protection Day!

Horse protection is not a one-day focus for us. It’s the reason we exist.

Protection can look different depending on the situation. Sometimes it means stepping in at auction. Sometimes it means accepting an owner surrender before a situation worsens. Sometimes it means rehabilitation, training, or helping a horse transition into the right adoptive home.

And most of the time, it’s the steady work — regular farrier care, veterinary oversight, safe facilities, appropriate nutrition, and daily management that keeps horses healthy and secure.

Real protection isn’t a single dramatic moment, and it isn’t non-stop crisis. It’s long-term responsibility, consistency, and showing up every day.

That’s the commitment we make here.
