Welcome, Dove!
Let's meet our newest friends from Saturday's auction!
First up ... introducing *Dove*
This 3-year-old gray mare had a rough start to her auction experience. She slipped and fell just trying to enter the ring, then stood quietly—scared and unsure as the bidding started.
Prices were all over the place Saturday, with 300+ horses going through the ring, and we had already been outbid on several of our top priority horses. When Dove came in and went low, we placed a bid. We didn’t know prices for younger horses would keep dropping—but she was within our budget, and we’re glad she’s here.
At first glance, Dove appears to be a healthy young horse—and we hope that’s true. But healthy doesn’t mean safe. She was in the ring with no guarantee of where she’d end up, and we had room and - thanks to you - funds, so we said yes.
Now safe, Dove is settling in and taking everything in at her own pace. She’s calm, alert, and starting to show us who she really is.
We named her Dove—a simple reminder of the peace and safety we hope she finds here.

Because of you, Dove has a second chance.
This month’s auction name theme was inspired by Sunrise on the Reaping, and of course, she had to be named Dove.
