Welcome, Luke!
NAME REVEAL: Meet LUKE
Luke is where things started to go awry at auction. His number fell off, so no one knew exactly who he was. They sold him as a filly, and the auction threw in a Coggins for an adult black mare with a crooked blaze and left hind fetlock, while our receipt says Luke is a "3 year old brown mare."
Luke is obviously none of those - he is a yearling, maybe coming 2 year old bay gelding (possibly an undropped colt - we'll be checking when we can touch him!). He's showing us that he's smart and watchy, but should come around quickly. He will also be in the Rising Star Division of the Dakota Showdown Horse Trainer Challenge this summer.
For now, his job is easy: eat, rest, and settle in. They’ll spend the next 20–30 days in quarantine while we give them time to decompress, so you won’t see much in the way of training or evaluation yet. If anything pops up health-wise, we’ll extend that time to make sure they’re feeling their best before moving forward.
